NOTES:
1. Domestic production in August was 96,041 units, down 9.2% from a year earlier, marking the 10th straight month of year-on-year decrease. Overseas production also fell 7.9% compared with a year earlier to 71,954 units, reflecting weak sales in Japan and the rest of Asia.

2. Nissanfs domestic sales in August decreased 6.0% from a year ago to 46,595 units, reflecting generally sluggish demand in the domestic market, which declined 9.4% from a year ago to 235,330 units. Although the companyfs sales of passenger vehicles in Japan rose by 8.4% from a year ago, posting the 4th straight monthly increase, sales of commercial vehicles declined 34.7% to 10,784 units. Newly introduced models continued to be well accepted in August though their sales volume was relatively small due to summer holidays in Japan. Specially, sales in August of the Skyline, Cube and Presage, which are redesigned or all-new models released this year, came to 2,081 units, 6,338 units, and 3,600 units, respectively.

3. Nissanfs exports decreased 7.7% year-on-year to 49,027 units in August because of weak sales in Asia and inventory adjustments in North America, despite the fact that exports of trucks to Europe and the Middle East increased.
