Nissan Kicks named “2017 SUV of the Year” by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalists
Nissan has dominated the SUV category by taking the first and second place of the most prestigious prizes awarded each year by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalists (FIPA, per its acronym in Spanish). During the 2017 edition, Nissan Kicks was named the “2017 SUV of the Year” by FIPA, while Nissan Murano, pioneer of the crossover family, took the second place, making Nissan the segment’s leader.

BMX athlete Renato Rezende, a member of the just launched Team Nissan 2.0, visited the Nissan Industrial Complex in Resende, Brazil, in the south of Rio de Janeiro. While there, he toured the production line where the Nissan Kicks will be produced in the coming months, visited with employees and rode the BMX bicycle on the test track of the factory, one of the most modern and sustainable in Latin America. His first time in an automobile factory, Renato was impressed by what he saw.

Nissan Kicks the "catcher car" at Wings For Life World Run in Brazil
In Brazil this week, the Nissan Kicks played a critical role in the Wings For Life World Run, the world's largest street race that aims to fund research into a cure for spinal cord injury. The event occurred simultaneously in 24 cities around the world on May 7, and the new Nissan's global crossover was the "catcher car" at the Brazilian edition. In Latin America, Wings For Life World Run took place in other two cities: Santiago (Chile) and Guadalajara (Mexico).

Nissan accelerates in Brazil, starts a second work shift at Resende Industrial Complex
Marco Silva, president of Nissan Brazil, has officially launched the second work shift at Nissan's Resende Industrial Complex. During his visit to the plant, Silva welcomed the 600 newly hired employees, part of a new work shift added to absorb an increase in the local demand for the Nissan Kicks. Nissan has assembled Kicks since April at its wholly owned plant in the Southern Rio de Janeiro State.
