Cefiro Undergoes Minor Model Change

Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the domestic release of the new Cefiro following the execution of a minor model change

Cefiro 25 Excimo G

The current generation of the Cefiro has been highly acclaimed for its all-around stellar attributes since it was released in December 1998. These include the exceptional comfort of its spacious interior as a superior-quality, highly rational sedan and its outstanding utility provided in particular by the handy trunk pass-through feature and large trunk capacity. It is also noted for its remarkable driving ease and effortless ingress and egress, as a result of incorporating a universal design concept to facilitate ease of use by everyone. Moreover, the VQ engine, which delivers the best-in-class performance, fitted on the Cefiro combines ample power performance with low fuel consumption.

As part of the refinements made this time, a chrome-plated grille with vertical bars has been adopted that projects a look of premium quality. Both the front and rear bumpers feature a stylish design, and the interior is tastefully accented with handsome wood-grain inserts. These and other changes further enhance the image of superb quality and class conveyed by both the exterior and interior. In addition, the Cefiro also comes with fender marker lamps for easier maneuverability.

The grade selection has been reorganized into a simple lineup consisting of two types_]the high-quality, rationally packaged Excimo and the Excimo G that offers an even higher level of refined quality. The two types are combined with a 2.0-liter and a 2.5-liter engine to provide four grade choices.

The body color selection has been expanded with the addition of three new colors: White Pearl (3P) with a stronger pearl look, Diamond Silver (M) and Bordeaux Red (P). (The notation 3P means three coats of Pearl, M signifies Metallic and P denotes Pearl.)

Overview of Cefiro
1. Exterior changes

• A chrome-plated grille with a vertical bar motif has now been adopted that conveys a stronger impression of outstanding quality.
  
  
• Both the front and rear bumpers are larger in size and stylishly designed.
  
  
• Fender marker lamps have been newly adopted on both sides at the front for improved maneuverability.
  
  
• The lens color of the rear combination lamps has been changed.
  
  
• Both the 25 Excimo G and Excimo G models come with newly styled 16-inch aluminum wheels as standard equipment.
  
  
• Pin-striped chrome-plating is applied all around the car to the front bumper, protective side moldings and the rear bumper to accentuate the appearance.
  
  
• Three new body colors, White Pearl (3P), Diamond Silver (M) and Bordeaux Red (P), have been added to the previous selection of Excellent Blue Pearl, Grayish Silver (M), Champagne Silver (M) and Black, making a total of seven attractive color choices.

2. Interior changes

• Handsome wood-grain panels have been newly positioned around the audio system and the air-conditioner ducts to give the interior a unified look of superior quality.
  
  
• The steering wheel has been redesigned, and the 25 Excimo G and Excimo G grades feature a wheel that combines attractive wood-grain sections with a genuine leather covering.
  
  
• A DVD-ROM-based TV/navigation system has been adopted in place of the previous CD-ROM-based system to shorten search times and increase the data storage capacity. (Available as a factory-installed option is an audio system consisting of a 120-watt electronically tuned AM/FM radio with an integrated CD player, six speakers and MC-CD autochanger functions.)
  
  
• The standard audio system on the Excimo has been changed from an integrated cassette player to an integrated CD player. And its output has been increased from 60-watt to 80-watt. (An 80-watt electronically tuned AM/FM radio with an integrated CD player and four speakers.)
  
  
• The 25 Excimo G comes with genuine leather seats as standard appointments.
