YOKOHAMA (March 11, 2010) -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan group companies today announced a financial donation to International NGOs to aid in the emergency-relief efforts in Chile.
“The Nissan family is saddened by the recent Chilean earthquake and our thoughts are with those affected by this disaster,” said Shoichi Miyatani, corporate vice-president, Latin America, Nissan Motor Co.
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. will donate 3 million yen to Japan Platform, a Japan-based international NGO. Nissan in the Americas will donate 17,000 dollars to the International Red Cross organization. Nissan's total contribution to the Chilean earthquake emergency relief is estimated at 4.5 million yen (50,333 US Dollars).
