Nissan trucks break through at Red Bud TORC Event

TRAXXAS TORC series Round 3 and 4

May 26-27: Red Bud Off-Road Raceway - Buchanan, Michigan (U.S.A.)
Red Bud Off-Road Raceway proved to be to Nissan Frontier driver Brad Lovell's, and Nissan Titan driver Chad Hord's liking. The two combined for a pole, a win and three overall podiums at the TRAXXAS TORC Series off-road truck races Memorial Day Weekend for Nissan's best showing of 2012.

Chad Hord

Chad Hord made the podium twice in
PRO 2WD

On Saturday, Lovell set fast time in the PRO Light class in his Nissan Frontier, but as a result of the strong run had to start 6th due to the inverted start rule. With a track that features very few passing areas and five fast competitors in front of him, Brad had to settle for a 5th place finish.

Chad Hord and his Nissan Titan qualified 4th and was able to hold the lead for the first half of the PRO 2WD race. Despite a persistent engine misfire, Hord was able to maintain 2nd place and earned Nissan's first podium for the weekend.

On Sunday, Lovell started on the outside of the front row in his PRO Light Nissan Frontier, and by lap two took a lead he would never relinquish. It was Brad's first win in the TRAXXAS TORC series after numerous strong runs and podiums over the past two years.

Hord's crew made an overnight engine change that helped him get to the front from 4th place starting position in PRO 2WD on Sunday. At the halfway point of the race, Chad was in the lead but could not hold it and again finished 2nd.

Fortunately, Chad's two second place finishes this weekend were enough to put him in the PRO 2WD points lead in the TRAXXAS TORC series PRO 2WD class.Lovell's finish moved him into third position in the TRAXXAS TORC PRO Light driver's standings.
