Nissan relief efforts for the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake

YOKOHAMA, Japan (April 19, 2015) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and its employees extend their heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake, hoping for their safety and the earliest possible recovery for the region.

Below is an outline of relief efforts for the affected region from Nissan and affiliates:

Monetary donations:

  • Nissan will donate a total of 10 million yen.
  • Nissan and Nissan Motor Kyushu will match donations raised by their employees.

Vehicles:
Nissan will provide up to a total of 100 units of the all-electric Nissan LEAF and e-NV200 for free use.

Donation of needed items:

  • Nissan donated food and daily necessities, including 6,000 500 ml bottles of water and 2,750 servings of instant rice.
  • Nissan Motor Kyushu provided water and food and sent volunteer staff to support distribution at Nissan dealerships.
  • Nissan battery-manufacturing affiliate Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC) donated portable storage batteries.

Nissan Motor Kyushu suspended its scheduled weekend work day on Saturday, April 16 to assess the plant and parts supply, but resumed operations on Monday, April 18. The plant is now operating on a calendar basis.
