33rd annual Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix open to aspiring writers

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that the 33rd Nissan Children's Storybook and Picture Book Grand Prix is now open to submissions from aspiring writers.

Nissan has sponsored the Grand Prix since it began in 1984. The competition is organized by the International Institute for Children's Literature,Osaka. It offers talented writers and illustrators of children's books a platform to showcase their work, and the winning entries are published. Past winners have gone on to have successful careers as authors and illustrators. The Nissan-sponsored competition now attracts close to 3,000 entries each year. Nissan will fund the distribution of the winning works to libraries and kindergartens near Nissan offices and plants in Japan, in cooperation with BL Publishing Co., Ltd. Applications will close on Monday, October 31, 2016.Further details are available here (in Japanese only).
