Regarding COVID-19 infection in Japan


At Nissan, the safety of communities, stakeholders and employees is always our highest priority. In its operations around the world, Nissan has implemented proactive actions aimed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and is coordinating with all parties to help ensure a safe environment.

We will continue to prioritize the safety and health of our employees and their families and all our stakeholders.

 


Updated September 24


On September 24, an employee working at Zama Operation Center in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.


Workplace of infected employee
Nissan Zama Operation Center in Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Affected sites were disinfected.


Employee condition
In line with guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at home.

The public health center has determined that no other individuals at the Zama Operation Center had close contact with the employee.

On August 27, an employee working at Zama Operation Center in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Employee condition
As per the guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at a hospital.

Employees who had close contact with the subject employee have been requested to stay at home.

Updated August 18


During Nissan’s summer holiday period in Japan (August 8 through 16), two Nissan employees and one employee of a service provider to Nissan tested positive for COVID-19.


1) Infected Nissan employee

Nissan Research Center in Yokosuka City and Zama Operation Center in Zama City, both in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Current condition
In line with guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, both employees are currently recuperating at home.

  • Nissan Research Center employee: The public health center has determined that no other individuals had close contact with the employee.
  • Zama Operation Center employee: Those who had close contact with the subject employee outside of Nissan facilities have been requested to stay at home.


2) Employee of service provider to Nissan

Nissan Global Head Quarters Gallery in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Affected sites were disinfected.

Current condition
In line with guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at hospital.

Those who had close contact with the subject employee in the facility have been requested to stay at home. Nissan employees who had close contact with the subject employee outside of the facility also have been requested to stay at home.

In order to ensure safety, Nissan Global Head Quarter Gallery will be closed for the time being.

Update: August 23, 2020
Following confirmation, including the health condition of those who had close contact with the subject employee in the facility, the Global Head Quarter Gallery restarted regular operation on August 23.

 


Updated August 3


On July 23 and July 24 Nissan disclosed that two employees working at Nissan Global Information System Center in Japan had tested positive for COVID-19. The two attended a dinner with 9 Nissan colleagues and one employee of another company. The 10 individuals have taken PCR tests, with three of the Nissan employees testing positive.

All of the infected employees work at Nissan Global Information System Center in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Affected sites were disinfected.


Employees’ condition
The first two infected employees have already been discharged from hospital or quarantine facility. The employees who subsequently tested positive are currently recuperating at a quarantine facility as per the guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions.

The public health center has determined that no other individuals at the Nissan Global Information System Center had close contact with the employees.

On July 31, an employee working at Nissan Yokohama Plant in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Nissan Yokohama Plant in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Affected sites were disinfected.


Employee condition
In line with guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at home.

The public health center has determined that no other individuals at the Yokohama Plant had close contact with the employee.

On July 25, a Marelli employee working at Nissan Oppama plant in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Employee condition

As per the guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at a quarantined facility.

Employees who had close contact with the subject employee have been requested to stay at home.

On July 24, an employee working at Nissan global information-system center in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Nissan global information-system center in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Affected sites were disinfected.

Employee condition
The symptoms were detected on weekends. As per the guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at home and will be moved to a hospital once preparations are complete.

Employees who had close contact with the subject employee outside of Nissan facilities have been requested to stay at home.

On July 22, an employee working at Nissan global information-system center in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Workplace of infected employee
Nissan global information-system center in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The subject employee has been working from home when the symptoms were detected.

Employee condition
As per the guidelines from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at home and will be moved to a hospital once preparations are complete.

Employees who had close contact with the subject employee outside of Nissan facilities have been requested to stay at home from today.

Updated July 21

On July 19, an employee working at Nissan global headquarters in Japan tested positive for COVID-19.

Nissan Global Headquarters in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.


Employee condition
In line with instructions from the public health center and medical institutions, the employee is currently recuperating at home and will be moved to a hospital once preparations are complete.

There is no employee who had close contact with the subject employee because the employee has been working from home.
