Nissan celebrates 60 years in Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya – Nissan is celebrating six decades in Kenya, the hub of its East African operations, with the introduction of the all-new Nissan Navara double cab.

"Kenya is one of Nissan's oldest markets, and we are proud to partner with the MOTUS Group in serving our customers in the country through Nissan Kenya," said Jim Dando, director for Sales and Operations for Nissan Group of Africa. "We have also chosen Kenya for the head office of our East African hub, and it houses our regional team that looks after all of the surrounding markets."

The group displayed the all-new Navara alongside its range of pickups, crossovers and cars at an exclusive media event near its state-of-the-art sales and service facility in Nairobi.

After 60 years proudly serving the people of Kenya and East Africa, Dando told government, business and media leaders that Nissan is proud of its unique legacy in Africa. He announced a range of new initiatives at the inaugural Nissan Experience held in Nairobi's world-famous national park.

"Nissan Kenya is our official partner in country, with full sales, spares and service dealerships in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru with one under construction in Kisumu," said Dondo. "We also have a further nine sub-contracted dealerships."

During the introduction of the Navara, guests and journalists had the opportunity to experience many Nissan vehicles including the Nissan NP300 Hardbody, a top seller in the country thanks to its durability and low cost of ownership; the Nissan Patrol, another best-seller for the company with its V8 power and luxury specification level; and the Nissan X-Trail, the best-selling crossover in the world.
