Nissan Quest Concept (1994) Press Kit: At a Glance

Nissan’s Next Generation Quest Concept is a bold departure from traditional minivan design, creating a very architectural and fluid alternative to a category marked by “boxes on wheels.” The Quest concept features a long, sleek cabin with a flowing beltline gesture, a unique wraparound glass treatment and, to emphasize its athletic performance capabilities, 20-inch wheels and tires pushed out to the corners. Additional features of the Quest Concept include a power operated bi-fold tailgate that operates in a limited amount of space, a glass roof to illuminate the cabin and highly efficient fiber optic headlights.

Highlights of the Quest Concept include:


Body

  • All-new exterior design with flowing, arched beltline
  • Wraparound green-tinted, glass with hidden B-, C- and D-pillars
  • Retractable side door handles, flush with body when not in use
  • Highly efficient fiber optic headlights
  • Side view cameras in place of side mirrors
  • 20-inch polished Aluminum-alloy wheels with Goodyear Eagle tires
  • Electric sliding side passenger doors
  • Unique bi-fold electric tailgate that operates in a limited amount of space

Interior Features

  • Large, open interior environment with flexible six-passenger seating
  • Center-mounted Instrumentation utilizing a 16-inch wide information display
  • Furniture-inspired seating with folded, water-resistant felt material
  • Full-length glass roof for enhanced interior illumination
  • Full-length rear overhead console with dual entertainment system display screens
  • Raised rear floor for improved rear passenger visibility
  • Motorized center console that can slide next to any of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd row seating positions
  • Camera for monitoring of infant in rear-facing child seat
  • Open storage areas and seatback-mounted “backpack” system storage
  • Motorized rear inside bike rack

Design

  • Concept developed at Nissan Design America (NDA), La Jolla, California
  • Exterior and interior designed at NDA

Future Production Plan

  • Will be the first vehicle produced out of all-new manufacturing facility located in Canton, Mississippi
  • Production model to be powered by the award-winning VQ35 series engine
  • Utilizes SS-L platform used on the 02 Altima and the next generation Maxima
