NOTES:
1. Domestic production in July was 149,888 units, down 12.8% from a year earlier, marking the 9th straight month of year-on-year decrease, reflecting weak sales in Japan and Asia, despite increases brought on by the recent launch of the Skyline and Presage, and the excellent market acceptance of the Cube and Elgrand in Japan. Overseas production in July was 73,217 units, down 18.9%.
2. Nissanfs domestic sales in July decreased 9.7% from a year ago to 95,078 units, and its market share also decreased 0.2 points from the previous year to 22.0%. Thanks to excellent sales of the new Skyline, Presage, Cube, Elgrand, etc., Nissanfs domestic sales of passenger vehicles in July increased 1.0% year-on-year to 74,417 units. However, Nissanfs sales of commercial vehicles were 20,661 units, down 33.7% from a year earlier, reflecting generally sluggish demand in this segment of the domestic market, which was 109,433 units, down 25.3% from the previous year.
3. Nissanfs exports decreased 3.1% year-on-year to 67,077 units in July because of the weak sales in Asia and inventory adjustments in North America, despite the fact that sales in North America in July increased 9.9% to 66,520 units. Exports of commercial vehicles increased 18.0% from a year ago due to favorable acceptance of and trucks in Europe and the Middle East.
