1971 Datsun 240Z, the 19th East-African Safari Rally in 1971 overall winner
The Fairlady Z, also known as the export model name “Datsun 240Z,” challenged world rallies to prove its high performance.
This car is the overall winner of the 19th East-African Safari Rally in 1971. It brought Nissan’s second win in a row, following the victory in the previous year by the Datsun Bluebird. The engine mounted on the competition machine was L24 with in line 6-cylinder OHC 2393cc and generated 210ps. This car was restored by “Nissan Restoration Club” in 2013 to the drivable condition while preserving the appearance at the rally’s finish line.
