Nissan's Exhibits at the 36th Tokyo Motor Show-Commercial Vehicles

Feature a New Concept Car and a Caravan-based Reference Model

Tokyo – Highlighting Nissan's exhibits at the 36th Tokyo Motor Show-Commercial Vehicles will be the BeeLine concept car and the Caravan Delivery Version exhibited as a reference model. Created around the theme of business convenience, the BeeLine represents a next-generation mobile business station, and the delivery van is a cutting-edge utility vehicle based on the Caravan.

Caravan Delivery Version

 

Nissan will also present the broad and versatile lineup of the Caravan, a representative Nissan commercial vehicle that has long been highly acclaimed by customers. On display will be recent additions to the Caravan lineup, notably the Caravan Diesel Turbo, which is the only vehicle in its class to comply with Japan's Automobile NOx and PM Law, and the Caravan Rider, which offers a host of attractive attributes for more comfortable and enjoyable personal use.

Also on display will be the Caravan CNGV, which is set to be newly added to Nissan's compressed natural gas vehicle (CNGV) lineup.The lineup currently includes the AD Van and Atlas CNGV models featuring reduced exhaust emissions for greater environmental friendliness.

In addition to showcasing Nissan's efforts to create next-generation business-use vehicles, this year's exhibits will also feature concrete examples of the company's activities in a wide range of areas, including telematics, environmental performance, safety, and vehicle durability and reliability.

Overview of Principal Exhibits

(1) BeeLine (concept car)

A next-generation mobile business station that merges office and vehicle functions in an "all-in-one" concept

A utility vehicle that thoroughly pursues business convenience

  • The convenient walk-through design allows easy movement throughout the interior, and the auto-sliding side door slides all the way forward to create a large, unobstructed opening for ready access to the vehicle.
  • The second-row seats fold up for flexible expansion of the cargo area as needed.
  •  The cargo area is fitted with shelves and inside wall panels that fold down for use as a table or as a partition between the cockpit and the cargo area.
  •  The back door folds in the middle for easy loading and unloading of cargo in tight places.

Fusion of vehicle and office functions expands new business opportunities

  • Various IT tools supported by further advanced CARWINGS technologies provide enhanced capabilities for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-office communications.
  •  The instrument panel can be opened and extended rearward on the left side to create a working area like a office with a keyboard and a monitor

A friendly-looking design harmonized with the urban landscape

  • Executed around a motif of straight lines and curves, the exterior design projects a highly friendly image.
  •  The modern treatment of the headlamps and rear combination lamps is intended to catch the eyes of passersby.
  • The interior color scheme is based on a quiet gray motif coordinated with a white color resembling an office desk and a yellow tint for accent

2. Caravan

An all-new advanced delivery vehicle that anticipates the coming age

Functional cargo area

  •  Walk-through access from the driver's seat to the cargo area allows easy movement in the interior.
  •  An extensive roster of equipment is available, including a freezer, a refrigerator and a dedicated refrigerated compartment, among other handy items for accommodating a wide variety of cargo needs.

Superior interior design and functionality

  •  An innovative roof window makes it easy to see building signboards and overhead traffic lights from the driver's seat.
  • All four doors, including the auto sliding side door, allow hands-free operation via the key fob for added convenience.

CARWINGS telematics service accelerates business efficiency

  •  Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service enables the driver to access an information center to receive maps of delivery destinations and traffic information updates.
  • Daily driving logs and driver work logs can be sent to the office for processing and management.

Caravan CNGV (reference model)

Featuring superior economy and clean emissions while continuing the Caravan's traditional excellence in safety and comfort

  •  Three compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks are positioned efficiently under the floor to ensure an ample driving range without sacrificing the large cargo capacity.

In addition to these reference models, other attractive new Caravan versions will also be displayed, including the Caravan Diesel Turbo and the Caravan Rider that were released on September 30.
