YOKOHAMA, Japan (October 11, 2013)-Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. will showcase its advanced EV technology and vehicles equipped with innovative “intelligent" features at the 20th ITS World Congress which begins in Tokyo on October 14.
Demonstration vehicles equipped with autonomous drive technology—as seen at both the recent CEATEC Japan show and Nissan 360 brand event—will be displayed at the Nissan booth, which will also include the company's latest technology: the “LEAF to Home" residential power system and the Pedal Misapplication Prevention Assist (part of the Around View Monitor Technology) introduced in the Nissan Elgrand.
Nissan's technological breakthroughs will result in cars with unparalleled levels of safety, convenience, comfort, and driving pleasure.
Global experts in the field of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) will gather at the 20th ITS World Congress, which will be held at the Tokyo International Forum on Monday, Oct. 14 and Tokyo Big Sight from Tuesday, Oct. 15 to Friday, Oct. 18. Nissan executives will participate in the “Public Talk Session," a forum with ITS leaders from around the world, and guests will have the opportunity to take part in a technical visit to experience the latest technology firsthand.

1. Exhibition at Tokyo Big Sight

- Nissan Corporate Vice President Kunio Nakaguro will participate in the session, addressing the theme of "Automated and connected vehicle technologies."
3. Showcase Demonstration
- Nissan will participate in the “ITS GREEN SAFETY SHOWCASE," an experiential exhibition of the world's most advanced ITS services, promoted jointly by the public and private sectors of Japan.
4. Technical Visit (fee required)
- Kanagawa traffic center and V2I Cooperative Systems"
- Traffic control center visit to see a traffic & vehicle coordination system-
UTMS (Universal Traffic Management Systems) Society of Japan, National Police Agency and Kanagawa Prefectural Police Department demonstrate the latest traffic signal control and V2I Cooperative Systems. The tour includes a bus ride to experience the prediction-based traffic signal system in real-time. - Yokohama Smart Mobility
In collaboration with the City of Yokohama, this visit introduces the “next generation mobility vision for Yokohama," which aims to create a low carbon community, working with mobile enterprises. It features test drives of Nissan's ultra-compact electric vehicle, “Nissan New Mobility Concept," and demonstrations of the latest car-energy technology.
5. Demonstrations associated with automated and connected vehicle technologies
In the Aomi West Parking Lot Nissan will offer firsthand experience of its latest ITS technology, the Pedal Misapplication Prevention Assist.
