Nissan launches all-new X-Trail in China

Global model to lead the country's growing SUV segment

CHENGDU, China (February 25, 2014) - Nissan today launched the all-new X-Trail in China. A high-volume global model, X-Trail is expected to lead the growing SUV segment here. The all-new Nissan X-Trail will be available for sale from Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) in late March.

X-Trail has a bold, energetic and engaging exterior that Nissan believes will appeal to a variety of potential buyers, including those establishing careers and starting families. They want a vehicle that is practical, yet stylish, and can handle both city and rural driving – a vehicle that delivers excellent performance in most any situation.

Inside, X-Trail is spacious and user-friendly. It features a large console box for gear and flexible seating that can be configured in several ways to best accommodate cargo and passengers. X-Trail's spinal support seats are first in class, as are the Active Trace Control and 4x4i drive system, with Hill Start Assist, Advance Hill Descent Control and Yaw Moment Control.

X-Trail also boasts many other advanced technologies, including the world's first Active Ride Control and Active Engine Brake, and Active Trace Control, all to help deliver comfort for the driver and passengers. X-Trail has many safety features as well, including the Around View Monitor with Parking Assist to help drivers be more aware of what's near them in varied situations.

X-Trail is built on a new modular platform developed by Renault-Nissan that is part of the company's strategy in pursuit of synergy and efficiency in engineering. X-Trail, which made its world debut last fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show and currently Nissan's No. 2 best-selling model in the United States*, is ultimately expected to be offered in 190 countries worldwide. * This model is sold as Nissan Rogue in the United States.

China is Nissan's largest market and accounts for one-quarter of the company's global sales. Last year, sales totaled 1.27 million vehicles, a 17.2 percent increase over the previous year.

In conjunction with the announcement of the all-new X-Trail launch, Nissan announced its overall annual sales target – including all passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and imported vehicles – is set at more than 1.40 million units.
