Nissan Announces $22,400 M.S.R.P for 2004 Titan Pickup

- Nissan's First Entry in Full-Size Truck Market Offers Power, Innovation and Value --

GARDENA, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2003) - Nissan North America, Inc. today announced starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) of $22,400 and $25,100 for its breakthrough 2004 Nissan Titan King Cab and Titan Crew Cab full-size pickups, respectively, which go on sale in early December at Nissan dealerships nationwide.

The Titan is Nissan's first entry into the full-size truck market, joining the full-size Nissan Pathfinder Armada sports utility vehicle, which went on sale in October.  Both the Titan and Pathfinder Armada are assembled at Nissan's new $1.43 billion manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi.

Unique Product Attributes and Unique Pricing Philosophy

Every 2004 Titan features a powerful 305-horsepower/379 lb-ft torque-rated 5.6-liter Nissan Endurance V8 engine, standard 5-speed automatic transmission and a wide variety of available innovations such as the High-Utility Bed with Utili-trackÔ channel tie-down system and standard Wide-Open rear doors on all King Cab models.   Properly equipped, Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds and offers class-leading 4x4 specifications such as front & rear Active Brake Limited Slip traction control (ALBS) for unparalleled off-roading, standard Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), and class-leading rear axle ground clearance.  The Titan is offered in two body styles,  Titan King Cab, with its innovative Wide-Open rear doors that open 168 degrees for easier passenger and cargo access to the rear compartment, and Titan Crew Cab, with four full-size doors and a generous cabin that offers best-in-class overall interior room, headroom and legroom.  Both the King Cab and Crew Cab are available in a choice of 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and in three trim levels, XE, SE and LE.

"Titan enters the highly competitive, incentive-laden full-size truck segment with not only unique product attributes but with a unique value pricing philosophy," said Jed Connelly, senior vice president sales and marketing, Nissan North America.  "We are pricing Titan with realistic MSRPs that we believe will be closer to the actual prices consumers will pay - rather than pricing higher with room factored in from the beginning for heavy incentives and discounting."

Prices for the 2004 Nissan Titan King Cab models are:

·         Titan King Cab XE 4x2 $22,400

·         Titan King Cab SE 4x2 $24,400

·         Titan King Cab LE 4x2 $28,800

·         Titan King Cab XE 4x4 $25,500

·         Titan King Cab SE 4x4 $27,500

·         Titan King Cab LE 4x4 $31,900

Prices for the 2004 Nissan Titan 2004 Crew Cab models are:

·         Titan Crew Cab XE 4x2 $25,100

·         Titan Crew Cab SE 4x2 $26,700

·         Titan Crew Cab LE 4x2 $31,100

·         Titan Crew Cab XE 4x4 $28,200

·         Titan Crew Cab SE 4x4 $29,800

·         Titan Crew Cab LE 4x4 $34,200

"Our new Titan offers lower MSRPs and more standard features than comparable 2004 Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram models," said Connelly.  "It's a strategy that consumers should appreciate because it makes the true value of the new Titan easier to see - just as with the 350Z, Altima, Xterra, Murano and other breakthrough Nissan models."

"We'd like to bring a little pricing sanity back into the full-size truck category.  Right now, what a consumer pays has little relation to what the sticker says, leading to buyer confusion and ultimately diminishing the perceived value of the vehicles," said Connelly.  "With the design, styling and engineering value of the new Titan already established in early media head-to-head competitive comparisons and award competitions, we know we have a high value product.  We want Titan to offer high value prices as well."

The Nissan Titan has already been singled out for several awards.  Four Wheeler magazine named Titan its 2004 Truck of the Year.  Also, Smart Money magazine selected Titan over its competitors for its Smart Money Award.  And, Edmunds.com, one of the Internet's leading resources for consumer automotive information, picked Titan as the Most Significant Vehicle of the Year for 2004.

In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.  More information on Nissan in North America and the complete line of Nissan vehicles can be found online at www.nissanusa.com.
