A breakthrough in combustion engine design, the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine adjusts its compression ratio to optimize power and efficiency.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – INFINITI's VC-Turbo engine, the world's first production variable compression ratio engine, was named to Wards 10 Best Engines list for the 2019 model year.
"When we debuted the VC-Turbo in the all-new QX50 earlier this year, we gave drivers an engine that is able to transform on demand, providing performance and efficiency in one package," said Mike Colleran, vice president and managing director, INFINITI Americas. "Since its arrival at retailers, the QX50 has consistently broken monthly sales records, and it has become one of the most popular models in INFINITI showrooms."
In the 25th year of Wards 10 Best Engines competition, the INFINITI VC-Turbo engine was tested against a range of new and significantly improved powerplants from manufacturers around the world, along with Wards 10 Best winners from 2018.
